My story

My journey started when I was 6. I created a model of the Wright Flyer, fabricated from newspaper and toothpicks. From there, I progressed onto origami, making dozens of dragons and planes. My friends then introduced me to woodworking, programming, and computer aided design. My parents and friends sparked my interest in design, and I fanned the flame with my determination to develop. Currently, I am pursuing a 4 year Design Engineering MEng course at Imperial College London.

Throughout my journey of development, one element remained constant: my love for nature. When I moved to India from the US, I realized that when economies are growing rapidly, either social or environmental factors are compromised. I knew there had to be a way to avoid this; some way in which all three factors are maintained equally. It was then when I learnt about the importance of sustainability: a balance of economic, environmental, and social factors to create a well-rounded climate for development.

I am particularly interested in waste management. As a child, I often made things from old soda bottles or waste newspaper. When I learnt that people dispose such objects without any thought about how it could be used further, I was shocked. This premature ideal developed into a more rigorous understanding of the circular economy, and now I am striving to understand its role in our future.

Currently, I live in the United Kingdom with my parents and my dog. I love hiking with them, and sometimes, I go mountain biking with my friends. I completed the IB Diploma, scoring 43 points out of 45, with 7s in Mathematics (Analysis and Approaches), Physics, and Chemistry, all taken at Higher Level.
